Petrified tree stump: On the way to Invercargill we saw an awesome foreshore petrified forest. Entire trees, laying down, were preserved. It was made even cooler because it’s a tidal flat and the ocean was right there. Apparently through the result of massive volcanic eruptions the forest was petrified in a matter of months, aka very very quickly.
